10th Grade Field trip

Ms. Wagener and Ms. Sudar took the Highland High School English 10 and PreAp English 10 classes on a field trip to visit the campus of Purdue Northwest in Hammond, IN. Students began their day with a presentation by an admissions recruiter describing the various aspects of attending college. The goal of this field trip was to show students the options available to them and have them begin thinking about the college process. Helping to solidify their decision to attend college is a big plus!

The students seemed to have a great time. They listened well and asked questions. Upon returning to school the students expressed their gratitude as to how beneficial they felt the tour was and how much they enjoyed seeing a college campus.

This field trip was successful in getting kids interested in attending college, thinking about their future plans, and motivating them to set goals. We look forward to doing this every year in the English 10 classes. Thank you Highland Education Foundation for making this trip happen.
